“I believe music opens the heart and mind and I’m thrilled to nurture creativity through song and sound in the classroom.”

— Megan Hollingshead

I am a UK-trained primary teacher and have taught pupils from Nursery through to the upper primary years. Prior to joining The British School of Bali, I taught at King’s College Prep School, Taunton, UK, where I developed an inclusive and supportive classroom practice focused on curiosity, confidence and a love of learning.

Alongside my role as a class teacher, I have a strong commitment to music education. I am a classically trained cellist and hold both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Music Performance from the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London. I have also taught internationally as a cello instrumental teacher, delivering individual and group tuition, and am Kodály-trained, with a focus on making music an accessible, engaging and meaningful part of everyday classroom practice.

I also have a strong passion for the visual arts, believing that children’s creative expression plays an important role in communication, confidence and emotional development. I encourage pupils to explore ideas, take creative risks and express themselves through a range of artistic media as part of a balanced and holistic approach to learning.
