Uniforms Help Foster

A Sense Of Pride

Uniform Overview

School uniform is compulsory for all students. We believe that wearing the uniform smartly and with pride supports positive self-esteem and reflects the values of our school community. All students are expected to arrive at school each day in full uniform, worn neatly. Guidelines for different year groups can be found in the uniform booklet linked above.

On dry (non-swimming) Physical Education (PE) days, students of all ages should come to school wearing their PE uniform.

On swimming days, students of all ages should wear their usual daily uniform and bring their swimwear to change into at school. You will be informed of your child’s PE and swimming days at the start of the academic year.

Footwear

Footwear is an important part of the school uniform and must be practical, safe and in keeping with the school’s appearance expectations. All shoes - both daily and PE - must be close-toed for safety.

Students in Pre-Nursery to Year 3 should wear plain, unbranded shoes in black, dark blue or white. They may also choose to wear the same style of shoes as students in Years 4 to 6.

Students in Years 4 to 6 are required to wear comfortable black leather or synthetic leather school shoes.

On PE days, all students should wear sports or training shoes in black, dark blue or white. These should be plain and unbranded wherever possible.

Further details for each year group are provided in the uniform booklet linked above.

General Appearance

For safety reasons, students may not wear jewellery, apart from plain stud earrings. Other items — whether metal or plastic — may pose a risk during playtimes and PE lessons.

Hair should be worn in a neat, tidy style. Mohicans, tramlines, and brightly coloured hair are not considered appropriate for school. If a hairstyle is deemed unsuitable, the Headmaster will contact parents and request a more appropriate style. Long hair should be tied back for safety.

Full appearance guidelines are available in the booklet above.
