A Vibrant Music Programme Takes Centre Stage – BSB Welcomes Megan Hollingshead

We are delighted to welcome Megan Hollingshead to the Primary Section of The British School of Bali! Joining us from the prestigious King’s College Prep School in Taunton, Megan is a passionate and talented UK-trained educator who brings vibrant energy, creativity, and a deep love of learning to our growing team.

While she is a dynamic and enthusiastic general primary teacher, who received outstanding recommendations from the leadership team at King’s College, Taunton, the top UK prep school where she is currently employed, Megan also has a strong passion for music. Alongside leading a class, Megan will drive the development of a superb in-school music programme from day one, leveraging her rich experience that includes teaching in both the UK and internationally - most recently in the Cayman Islands, where she delivered string lessons with a particular focus on the cello.

Megan has taught pupils from Nursery to Year 8, leading choirs, orchestras, and string ensembles, and playing an active role in drama productions and other co-curricular activities. A classically trained cellist, she holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Music Performance from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London, and has worked extensively as a freelance musician with leading orchestras and ensembles.

She is also a Kodály-trained educator, committed to making music accessible, engaging and meaningful for all learners. Her approach to teaching integrates the arts into everyday classroom life, enriching the learning experience with creativity, rhythm and expression.

Beyond music, Megan has a deep enthusiasm for the visual arts, encouraging children to explore new ideas, take creative risks and express themselves through a wide range of artistic media. Her holistic and imaginative approach to education will make a wonderful contribution to the culture of creativity and curiosity we are building at BSB.

We’re thrilled to have her on board!
