Physical Movement
Children at the British School of Bali enjoy regular physical development. In early childhood, physical education is crucial for holistic development, focusing on building strength, coordination and control, developing motor skills and establishing healthy habits.
There are many benefits of early childhood physical education, such as physical health, boosting self-esteem, cognitive development and social and emotional development.
The British School of Bali supports children to develop their physical education through enjoying regular Jump Academy lessons, which are located in a special designated ‘Parkour’ environment with specialist facilities, as well as formal P.E (Physical Education) led by the P.E teacher and numerous other outdoor and indoor play activities.
Our key components of early childhood physical education include fundamental movement skills such as running, jumping, climbing, hopping, crawling, stretching, landing safely, managing space correctly and moving with expression in a range of ways. Many activities are adult-led, and many are child-led. Activities are available for choosing regularly.
In Jump Academy, the children engage with obstacle course equipment and focus on building physical strength. They also practice balancing and show great team work.
Physical Education led by our P.E teacher focuses on building teamwork, games and movement. Miss Thorne creates fun activities with the children through play-based learning.
The children love creative learning experiences such as indoor dance activities using a multi-sensory approach. Ms Seager introduces new languages to children through dance and singing daily. Sometimes they dance in French, Spanish or Bahasa Indonesian, following dance instructions in English as well.
The children enjoy the natural environment and incredible climate of Bali outdoors daily as they engage with a range of activities.
