Frightful Fun Meets Fantastic Fiction at The British School of Bali!
On Thursday, 31st October, The British School was filled with excitement and festive spirit as students and staff came together to celebrate Halloween. The school was alive with colorful costumes, creative activities, and plenty of smiles as each class enjoyed a range of themed experiences throughout the day.
Students engaged in a variety of Halloween-inspired activities, including making skeleton-themed arts and crafts and dancing to well-loved songs such as Thriller by Michael Jackson. The creativity and enthusiasm shown by the children were truly delightful, and it was wonderful to see everyone participating with such energy and joy.
During assembly, we were delighted to welcome visiting author Molly Arbuthnott, who captivated the children with her storytelling. She shared her book Oscar the Ferry Cat with all students and visited classrooms to read Eamonn the Bat and Eddie the Duckling, the former a perfectly themed story for the occasion of Halloween! Her visit inspired our young readers and writers to use their imagination and appreciate the magic of storytelling.
In addition, primary students took part in Halloween-themed computing lessons, where they used Scratch to create interactive jack-o’-lantern visuals. This engaging activity combined technology with creativity, giving students an opportunity to learn coding skills in a fun and festive way.
The day was filled with laughter, teamwork and a strong sense of community. It was wonderful to see students and teachers embracing the spirit of Halloween together and creating special memories that will last well beyond the celebration.
A huge thank you to everyone who participated in making this year’s Halloween celebration such a fun and memorable event.
